The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has invited Online Recruitment Applications under Advertisement No. 63/9-2026 dated 25 September 2026 for 23 Agriculture Development Officer (Group-A, Job Trainee) posts in the Department of Agriculture, Himachal Pradesh. All 23 vacancies are backlog posts reserved for wards of Ex-Servicemen: Unreserved (Ward of Ex-SM) – 19; Scheduled Caste of HP (Ward of Ex-SM) – 3; and OBC of HP (Ward of Ex-SM) – 1. Engagement follows the State Government job-trainee scheme on fixed emoluments.

Eligibility

• Essential: B.Sc. (Agriculture) under a four-year degree programme and M.Sc. (Agriculture) Second Class from a college or university recognised by the State/Central Government or ICAR.
• Desirable: M.Sc. (Agriculture) First Class or above, and knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.

Selection typically includes an objective screening / descriptive subject aptitude test followed by a Personality Test at the Commission’s office in Shimla, as set out in the Commission’s selection procedure for such posts.
