The Union Public Service Commission has confirmed that the written examinations for National Defence Academy (NDA) (II) 2026 and Combined Defence Services (CDS) (II) 2026 will be held on 9th June 2026 at designated examination centres across the country.

  • Admit cards have already been released and can be downloaded by eligible candidates from the official UPSC website by logging in with their registration number and date of birth or other required credentials.
  • NDA (II) 2026 is being conducted for admission to the 158th Course of the National Defence Academy (Army, Navy and Air Force wings) and for the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing in 2027.
  • CDS (II) 2026 examination is for recruitment to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers Training Academy (OTA) for Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) course.
  • Candidates must carefully read all instructions printed on the admit card regarding reporting time, prohibited items inside the examination hall, dress code, and any special guidelines issued for the examination day.
  • The written examination for NDA consists of two papers — Mathematics and General Ability Test. For CDS, the papers are English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics (for IMA, INA and AFA) or English and General Knowledge (for OTA).
  • Successful candidates in the written examination will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview/Personality Test conducted by the respective defence services. The SSB process includes psychological tests, group tasks and personal interview.
  • UPSC has already published the detailed examination notice containing the syllabus, scheme of examination, eligibility conditions, medical standards and other important instructions on its official website.
  • Candidates facing any discrepancy in their admit card particulars or facing technical difficulties in downloading the admit card should immediately contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter or raise a grievance through the official online portal.
  • Defence aspirants are advised to revise current affairs, mathematics, English and general knowledge thoroughly in the remaining days. Physical fitness and medical standards must also be maintained as per the requirements of the respective academy.
  • Parents and guardians are requested to ensure that candidates reach the examination centre well in time and carry only the items permitted as per the instructions issued by UPSC and the examination centre authorities.
