SSC JE 2026 Notification Expected in Mid-June - Junior Engineer Posts in CPWD, MES and Other Central Departments

As per the latest SSC Exam Calendar 2026-27, the SSC JE 2026 (Junior Engineer) notification is expected to be released around mid-June 2026 for recruitment of Junior Engineers in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contract disciplines.

• The recruitment is primarily for posts in Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Military Engineer Services (MES), Central Water Commission (CWC), Central Public Health Engineering Organisation and other central government engineering departments and organizations.
• Educational qualification required is a Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
• Age limit is generally between 18 to 32 years as on the cut-off date with upper age relaxation applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and central government civilian employees as per SSC rules.
• The examination is conducted in two papers — Paper-I (Computer Based Objective Type) and Paper-II (Descriptive Type) for candidates shortlisted on the basis of Paper-I performance.
• Selected candidates are appointed as Junior Engineers in various central government organizations and enjoy the benefits of central government jobs including attractive pay scales, job security, medical facilities and pension under NPS.
• Aspirants who have completed their engineering diploma or degree are advised to start preparation early as the notification is expected any time after mid-June 2026.
