What happened
On 25 September 2026, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah opened the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) in Greater Noida. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present.
Shah noted that the day was the 12th anniversary of the 'Make in India' mission, which PM Narendra Modi announced on 25 September 2014. He said UP is aiming for a US$1 trillion economy. He pointed to the six nodes of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor (Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, Agra, Aligarh and Kanpur), BrahMos missile production in UP, AK-203 rifles made in Amethi, and the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. He also paid tribute to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 110th birth anniversary.
